Stocks are rising because the producer price index (PPI) came in at a 0.1% month over month decrease, pointing to the possibility for inflation to come down in the future. While it won’t affect how much the Federal Reserve raises interest rates by at the September Fed meeting, it does give some hope that inflation might start dropping soon.
