Earnings were good Tuesday after the close, which should push the stock market up on Wednesday. In addition, the Fed is expected to raise interest rates by 75 basis points at their July Fed Meeting on Wednesday, which should also push the market up. But then on Thursday we have the Q2 GDP numbers coming out, and they are widely expected to indicate a recession in the United States. If we do get a US recession, you can expect a stock market crash on Thursday, followed by who knows what after Apple and Amazon report earnings. It’s been a crazy week so far with warnings from Walmart and Shopify, yet better than expected earnings from Google (Alphabet) and Microsoft.
